In partnership with the wider community, StarJam holds action-packed social events, open to anyone interested. Our community events bring all our Jammers (our young people) together to hang-out and socialise outside of their workshops and interact with non-workshop Jammers and people from the wider community.
In 2016 we are holding 4 discos in each of our regions. If you come along at the end of every school term in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Wellington, or Christchurch, you’ll meet between 60 to 120 people jamming and having a lot of fun!
Every StarJam community event helps build a safe network of peers, so young people with disabilities can make friends and learn and develop as individuals. At the same time, the families/whanau can get involved and build supportive networks, and Jammers give back to the community by sharing their talents with others.
