Join our National Annual Appeal and Help Us Make Some Noise!
StarJam empowers young people with disabilities through exciting music and performance workshops throughout New Zealand. We are on the lookout for amazing and wonderful volunteers like you to assist us for our appeal on International Day of People with Disability, Saturday 3 December 2016.
What is International Day of People with Disability?
The official day was established in 1992 by the United Nations as an international observance day on 3rd December annually. This special day is celebrated globally and aims to promote the understanding around disability issues and support the dignity, rights and well-being of people living with disabilities.
StarJam is celebrating with a national street appeal to raise awareness and funds to support our work with young people with disabilities. Our programmes are based on a philosophy of inclusion, encouragement and fun! We’d love to create a world where people with disabilities are fully integrated into our communities and lead happy, successful lives.
StarJam receives no government funding and totally reliant on kind supporters and volunteers to continue its essential programmes.
What do our Volunteers do?
StarJam Volunteers will be hitting the streets around the country to make some noise on behalf of StarJam. You will be engaging with members of the public to share information about StarJam’s work and friendly bucket-shaking.
