Recognition for StarJam

Our organisation, founders and even our wonderful volunteers have been honoured with many awards. Whilst we don’t like to blow our trumpet, we are grateful that what we do in changing the lives of thousands of young people with disabilities is recognised.

September 2012 Hero Awards

We’re so proud and delighted to announce our very own Jammer Hero Awards for September. Congratulations to each one of you!

Hero Awards are presented three times a year at the Monthly Get-Togethers.  They are presented to Jammers and others in the StarJam community who live StarJam’s values to the max.

Auckland

Danny Cope – For being super-kind and supportive of his peers, lending his CDs to others for their Spot The Talent, giving great positive feedback, and being an enthusiastic performer who always gets everyone dancing!

Hannah Santell – For being so supportive of other Jammers and giving great Spot The Talent feedback!

Jacob Barry – For working hard to learn the guitar quickly, being so creative with your poetry and being a great addition to the workshop!

Natalie Germann – For being a great volunteer and a wonderful relief tutor!

Stephanie Wang – For always welcoming other Jammers to the workshop, and being so supportive and showing unconditional love to the other Jammers!

Hamilton

Erin O’Neill – For your creativity in Spot The Talent, your respect for all your fellow Jammers and for the passion, joy and laughter you bring with you to every workshop.

Jonothan Stokes – For stepping up and showing some true leadership and for being incredibly kind and helpful in coaching along your fellow Jammers.

Marin Gempton – For your lovely caring and support of all of the Jammers in your workshop, your courage and your incredible dance moves.

Nicholas Win – For always being super prepared when learning your songs, for working incredibly hard at memorising the songs, and for giving your best to every performance.

Te Ramanui Marriner – For helping everyone in the Dynamic Drumming workshop keep the beat and for performing such gorgeous songs during Spot The Talent. Your kindness and respectful manner are a delight!

Vita Hindin – For bringing joy and laughter to the Dazzling Dance Workshop. Your very funny and sweet personality encourages everybody to have a great time!

Wiremu Manahi – For sharing your love of ABBA with the Sensational Singing workshop. You help everybody learn the lyrics and always encourage other Jammers to get involved!
