Unlocking Lockdown

Thanks to our friends at Datacom and Cisco Australia and New Zealand we were able to take our workshops online live around the country during lockdown and for the remainder of Term 2.

Thanks to Cisco we have been using Webex Meetings (a video conferencing platform) so that our Jammers across the country can participate in their workshops live in real-time with their tutors, volunteers and fellow Jammers from the safety of their own homes. They have been able to connect with their friends, share their talents and continue to learn and unleash their potential.

We have even been able to combine workshops so that Jammers from one region can meet and hang out with Jammers from another region. One of our Auckland Jammers in particular loved "visiting" Christchurch during one of his workshops one night. Tutors and vollies as well have loved meeting one another online and learning new skills to facilitate their own workshops. It's been a wonderful tool to help make the entire national StarJam whanau feel connected.

A huge shout out to all our wonderful tutors for running some fantastic fun-filled workshops. A big thank you to our vollies who have stepped in to assist our tutors and Jammers when they needed it. And, of course, a standing ovation to all our incredibly talented Jammers. It has been so good to see you all dancing, singing, drumming, and jamming. We are so grateful to Cisco and Datacom for making this happen for our Jammers.
