- Pippa Mahood...by the end of the afternoon their inhibitions and shyness had evaporated, and they were ready to go! To have that ability to strike a cord so quickly, proves to me that your wonderful organisation has got it right.

StarJam in Hamilton has not looked back since Deputy Mayor Pippa Mahood and long-time Jammer Anthony Jellyman cut the ribbon opening StarJam up for business back in April 2010. It has quickly become a cherished member of the wider StarJam family.
Seven workshops are now up and running; East & West Dazzling Dance, Sensational Singing, Jazzy Jamming, Groovy Guitars, Dynamic Drumming and Boogie band(its).
48 Jammers are currently enrolled, and performances have included to attendees at the Arts Waikato Awards Evening and a stunning end-of-year show held at the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts.
StarJam Hamilton is a great place to be. It’s always a place of fun, laughter and friendship.
“I love it and I always will. They are the highlight of my week and each week I am noticing how I am becoming increasingly more proud of each Jammer both in the workshop when they get dance moves, but also the sharing of their achievements in school and work”.
Loren Corbett (East Dazzling Dance Tutor)
“It has been truly inspirational to watch the progress in the Hamilton Jammers from their first workshop to the last in 2011 and how they have evolved in confidence, and made friendships. I have heard whispers from parents and teachers with regards to changes in a Jammer in school, or in the community or family environment, the feeling of belonging. The excitement that Jammers feel when they know it’s their StarJam night, the inability to sleep following their workshop!”
Kelley Marra (one of StarJam’s Regional Programmes Co-oordinators)
