StarJam is looking for compassionate people to volunteer in a variety of roles.

StarJam is a not-for-profit organisation offering performance opportunities to young people with disabilities in Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington. StarJam kids gain confidence, empowerment, new friends, new hope and new purpose (so do the volunteers!). Visit www.starjam.org to see StarJam in action. We are always looking for compassionate, reliable people to register their interest in being a StarJam volunteer.

StarJam offers volunteers:

  • Great support from dedicated staff, tutors and families
  • A chance to be part of an innovative organisation that transforms lives – add some extra ‘oomf’ to your CV!
  • Extremely rewarding positions
  • $10 petrol voucher to workshop volunteers

We need volunteers for the following:

  • Regular StarJam workshop volunteers.
We run performing arts workshops for young people with disabilities in Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington, that each requires a dedicated volunteer to help supervise and support the young people involved. The volunteer is responsible for opening and securing the venue, ensuring the safety of the participants and generally having a fun time with the kids.  The workshops are held on a regular week night during the school terms from 6.30pm to 8pm, so is best suited to someone who can commit to regular involvement.
  • Community monthly get-together volunteers.
StarJam holds community monthly get-togethers in Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington on a regular weekend day once a month. We need volunteers to help prepare afternoon tea, help people to be involved in different activities (e.g. games), and provide support to the StarJam staff. This volunteer role is best suited to those who can make a regular once-a-month commitment.

We regularly hold Volunteer interview and information sessions and would love for you to join the next one!
