‘Stars Thru Their Eyes’ 2004; Celebrity Auction; Meet the Performers
This unique entertainment event will be held for the fourth time on August the 7th at the Sheration Hotel, Auckland, hosted by Simon Dallow and Alison Mau of TVNZ. Amazing young people with disabilities will interview celebrities and perform in musical and dance “jams”. There will be a celebrity auction of items donated by previously participating stars including Martin Crowe, Tom Cruise, Peter Jackson, Lucy Lawless and John McEnroe.
Meet this year’s new interviewers
It is with much pleasure that we introduce to you Sherilyn, Samantha, Dean, Ese, Daniel and Kimberley.
Sherilyn Hagan
Sherilyn Hagan is 12 and attends Rosehill Special School. She is seen here with one of her beloved rabbits - in fact she loves all animals including dinosaurs. She is a prolific writer and artist and produces wonderful poetry and beautiful drawings. She is interested in a career, which would include graphic animation work.
Samantha Kalolo
Samantha Kalolo is 14 and a student at St Mary’s College. She has grown up in a musical family and is a beautiful singer. She also plays piano and flute. Her fave subjects at school are maths, business studies and music and she wants to be a lawyer.
Dean Morath
Dean Morath, 25 has a wide range of interests including motor racing, rugby, movies and hanging out with friends. He also is an awesome drummer and has been playing since he was 2.
Ese Aumelsulusulu
Ese Aumelsulusulu, 16, is a student at James Cook High School and is very passionate about music and has played in every StarJam event to date. He also loves computers and travelling. He wants to be a mobility instructor.
Daniel Gourlay
Daniel who attends Takapuna Grammar School is 20. He is a talented dancer and many of you will have seen him dance in “Stars Thru Their Eyes 2003″. He loves ten pen bowling and golf. He’s a big fan of ‘Coronation Street’.
Kimberley McLean
Kimberley McLean, also attends Takapuna Grammar School and is about to turn 17. She loves listening to music and watching TV. She put a new spin on dancing for many of last year’s Stars Thru Their Eyes audience, who had previously seen wheelchair dancers.
