Hullo and Greetings to all StarJam Fans and Friends
Here’s a brief update for you with the latest excitement from StarJam i ncluding:
Fewer than 50 tickets left for StarJam Stage Show
Rehearsals in Full Swing
StarJam Monthly Meetings
Acknowledging our sponsors and funders
Fewer than 50 tickets left for SSS
Tickets sales have been open just one week and we now have fewer than 50 tickets left! There is certainly much anticipation about seeing such a totally unique show with a cast of over 200.
In this month’s news we introduce you to 3 more StarJam Stage Show performers. Imagine how much space it would take to put photos of our 130 young performers on this news page! Instead they all appear on the Jammers Page!!
Paul Jorgensen is from Mt Albert and a big music and movie buff. His favourite movie is “Back to the Future’ and yes, he’s a big fan of Michael J Fox. Last year Paul, as a part of his work experience, worked at aid organisation Tear Fund. He liked it so much he would like go back to work there when he’s finished school.
Matthew Lawless is our youngest performer at just six years of age. He will be featuring in a comedy act together with two other young comedians. Matt also likes to sing and dance and is very excited about the whole prospect of being in the show.
Shontell Castle aged 19 is from Mangere Bridge and is a student at McLeans Centre. Her hobbies include swimming, dancing and going camping. She loves going shopping!
Rehearsals in Full Swing
Rehearsals are in full swing with Jammers being transported all over Auckland to be at the right place at the right time. We are grateful to all who are helping our performers get to one (or more) of 6 different rehearsal locations at one (or more) of 9 different rehearsal times every week. We have an awesome team of people leading the rehearsals and I’m not sure who’s having more fun – the performers or the coaches.

Above we have the wheelies with some of their brothers and sisters taking a break from rehearsing , Manu Peretini coaching haka and below we have Ryan Monga from Adijah leading a drumming rehearsal and some serious planning by the younger members of the production team.

StarJam Monthly Meetings
At our last StarJam meeting, all those attending had a great time suggesting and choosing the music for the StarJam Stage Show. A self selected panel of 4 was our official clapometer and they gave a ranking to each song after judging the enthusiasm from the crowd. “Superstar” by Jamelia (suggested by Natalie Te Paa) received the most thunderous applause. Needless to say, this song will feature in the StarJam Stage Show.
We will be having our regularly ‘last Saturday of the month” StarJam meeting for March on Saturday 26th even though it falls on the Easter weekend. We welcome everyone without plans for going on Easter breaks to come along and get a little sneak preview from some of the rehearsals. T here’ll be time to make new friends, share the fun and munch on Easter Eggs.
